my daughter has to make a graph to show the number of deaths in 1593 as compared to the number of those deaths caused by the bubonic plague. The months are given (March through December) with the total of each during each month. She is unsure as to what to put on the x axis and y axis. The numbers for deaths range from 3 to 6093. Can you offer any help?

The months should be across the bottom (x axis) and the numbers of deaths along the side (y axis).

I suggest she divide the numbers evenly between 0 and 7,000 -- probably in units of 500. In other words, 0, 500, 1,000, 1,500, etc.
