a graph have four points (-5,-3) , (-2,3) , (0,4) , (4,6)

a) What points will the graph f^-1 have

b) Evaluate f^-1(-1)

a) x and y get switched around. Typical points will be (-3,-5) and (3,-2)

b) A curve through those points is not a straight line. My advice is to plot f^-1(x) by hand, draw a smooth curve through the points, and read off what y is when x = -1. I get it to be about -2.5
There is no exact answer because many different curves could be drawn through those points.
