• Read two of the five paragraphs on the second page of this appendix. Write a brief paragraph of about 150 words in which you do the following:

o Identify which paragraph was more effective and analyze why this is so.
o Include a discussion of sentence variety and the rhythm of the author’s writing.
o Focus on the writing rather than the opinions presented.
o Underline your topic sentence

A lot of people don’t have wills. Everyone needs a will, but not all people have one. Wills are important because they explain who gets your stuff after you die. You don’t want your things going to someone you don’t want them to go to. My Aunt Martha went to a lawyer to get a will, I did my will online. My dad died in 1988. He didn’t have a will. His stuff went to my step mom, who I don’t get along with. If he would have had a will, I might have been able to start college sooner. But my dad didn’t have a will. A will is good and you need to get one. Do you have a will?

4. Avoiding and managing debt is hard. Things cost so much money that it’s hard not to spend more than you make. The bills pile up, the utilities cost a lot, and going to the grocery store is expensive too. Then once those bills are paid, someone in the family gets hurt and needs to go the doctor or an unexpected bill comes in like car tags or something. We are told to just use cash and not use credit cards to help stay out of debt. Who’s going to pay those extra monthly bills if it’s not the credit cards? Avoiding and managing debit is too hard.

I think they are both poorly written, but the second one is slightly better. The first one sounds as if an elementary school student wrote it.

I am having the same problem as you, please help

To complete this task, you will need access to the document mentioned in the question, specifically the second page of the appendix. Once you have the document open, locate the five paragraphs on the page as mentioned. Read and comprehend the content of these two paragraphs.

To identify which paragraph is more effective, consider elements such as clarity, coherence, and persuasive power. Pay attention to the arguments presented, the flow of ideas, and the use of evidence, facts, or examples to support those arguments. Look for solid reasoning and logical structure within the paragraph.

In terms of sentence variety and rhythm, examine the author's use of sentence lengths, structures, and types. Assess whether the sentences flow smoothly, creating a cohesive and engaging reading experience. Consider if there is a good balance between shorter and longer sentences, as well as the overall rhythm and pacing of the author's writing style.

When writing your paragraph, start with a topic sentence that clearly states your analysis of which paragraph is more effective and why. Provide reasoning and evidence to support your judgment, focusing solely on the effectiveness of the writing rather than the opinions presented in the paragraphs. Underline your topic sentence to make it stand out.

Remember, the ability to complete this task relies on having access to the specific document mentioned and personally analyzing the content of the two paragraphs in question.
