  1. That is the difference of two squares. Remember that a^2 - b^2 = (a+b)(a-b)

    Think of "a" as 5w and "b" as 12.

    Now write down the answer.

  2. 25+12=37
    25-12=13
    37*13=481
    so the answer is 481??

  3. No. Where did the w go?
They are asking for the expression
    25w^2 - 144
    to be factored, not evalauated.

    The answer is
    (5w + 12)(5w - 12)

    Did I do this problem right? (2y+5w+6)(5y+5w-4) 2y(5y)+ 2y(5w) + 2y(-4) + 5w(5y) + 5w(5w)+ 5w(-4) + 6(5y) + 6(5w) + 6(-4) then I multiplied: 10y^2 + 10wy - 8y + 25wy + 25w^2 - 20w + 30y + 30w - 24 then I combined like terms: 10y^2

    Ok I got two I need help with : 1. Factor Completely 7x^2 + 49x + 42 I get 7x^2 + 7x + 42x + 42 then 7x(x+1) but the right side is confusing me. I know it should be (x+6). So the answer is 7x(x+1)(x+6) But I get 7x(x+1) 7(6x+6).

complete factorization y^4-25y^2+144 (^) denotes following number is Power y^4 - 25y^2 + 144 You might try replacing y^2 with x. Therefore your statement becomes: x^2 - 25x + 144 ...which is easier to factor.

5y^8-125 *you have to factor completley easy. Take out the five: 5(y^8-25) Now, isnt y8 the same as y4 )2 ? That is a square, so you have that y4 squared minus another perfect square? That factor as the difference of two squares.
