write an equation of the line in slope-intercept form containing the given point

A(2,6), B(3,8)

I forgot what slope-intercept form was... could you remind me?

a slope intercept is a form of a linear equation is y=mx+b , where m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept.

uhmm yea

first find the slope

slope = (8-6)/(3-2)
= 2

now use one of the points, eg A(2,6) and m=2 to sub into

y=mx+b
6=2(2)+b

solve for b, put that back into y=2x+b and you are done

so its not y-6=2(x-2)

NO

from my previous post:

y=mx+b
6=2(2)+b

then
6=4+b
b=2

then y = 2x + 2

so the answer will be y=2x+2 but then what if i get y-1=3/4(x+4) i got 2 simplify rght but how do u simplify (x-4)?
