I don’t understand the last part ‘But not one man that I …….. as thanks his God with every note’ can you explain for me,and I want to know the main theme of the following poem, is that about a strong connection between nature and people .I have to talk about the Australian vision referring to the good relationships between nature and people can I use this poem?

MAGPIES
Along the road the magpies walk
with hands in pockets, left and right.
They tilt their heads, and stroll and talk.
In their well-fitted black and white

They look like certain gentlemen who
seem most nonchalant and wise
until their meal is served - and then
what clashing beaks, what greedy eyes!

But not one man that I have heard
throws back his head in such a song
of grace and praise - no man nor bird.
Their greed is brief; their joy is long.
For each is born with such a throat
as thanks his God with every note.

In the last part of the poem "Magpies," the speaker is comparing the behavior of magpies to that of humans. The poet observes that despite the calm and nonchalant appearance of magpies, they become fierce and greedy when it comes to their food. However, the poet notes that he has never seen a man or any other bird express joy and gratitude in the same way as the magpies. The poet emphasizes that magpies are born with a unique throat that enables them to express their thanks to God in every song they sing.

As for the main theme of the poem, it seems to revolve around the contrasting behaviors and attitudes of nature (represented by the magpies) and humans. While the magpies demonstrate gratitude and joyful expression through their songs, humans are portrayed as lacking in this ability. The poem highlights the simplicity and naturalness of the magpies' connection with God and suggests that humans could learn from nature in terms of expressing gratitude.

Regarding the Australian vision and the relationship between nature and people, you can certainly reference this poem. Use its message of connecting with nature, expressing gratitude, and the contrast between human behavior and the natural world to support your argument about the strong connection between nature and people in the Australian context.
