I can tell you how geography has helped me. Maybe this will give you some ideas.
I've lived most of my life within a few miles of Lake Michigan. This "inland sea" has provided many happy days of swimming and sunning. The lake brings a slightly more moderate climate than places further away. It also brings our winter lake-effect snow that closes schools more often than many other places.
Unique land forms, such as the Rocky Mountains, Grand Canyon, ocean shores, and dense woodlands have inspired awe.
Local foods are also a pleasure.
