Apparently Mother Teresa died of a heart attack. I found no indication that she had leprosy.

Mother Teresa, also known as Saint Teresa of Calcutta, was a Roman Catholic nun who devoted her life to serving the poor and marginalized in India. While she wasn't highly educated in a formal sense, she did receive some education throughout her life.

Born on August 26, 1910, in Skopje, Macedonia (then part of the Ottoman Empire), Mother Teresa entered religious life at the age of 18. She joined the Sisters of Loreto, an Irish community of nuns, and spent nearly 20 years teaching at St. Mary's High School in Kolkata, India.

During her time as a teacher, Mother Teresa continued her education by attending various courses, including medical training. These educational pursuits provided her with the basic knowledge and skills necessary for her future work with the poor.

In 1948, Mother Teresa received what she described as a "call within a call" from God, urging her to serve the poorest of the poor. She started the Missionaries of Charity, a religious congregation dedicated to providing care and support to the destitute and dying.

Regarding her cause of death, Mother Teresa passed away on September 5, 1997, at the age of 87. Contrary to popular belief, she did not die of leprosy. The official cause of her death was a heart attack. While she did work with leprosy patients and other individuals suffering from various diseases, she herself did not contract leprosy.

In summary, Mother Teresa's education was modest, consisting of her early schooling, teaching experience, and ongoing pursuit of knowledge through courses and training. Her selfless devotion to serving the poorest of the poor remains her enduring legacy.
