What are some problems that can arise when using recrystallization in an experiment?

One could be not using the appropriate solvent... any other suggestions?

Use the wrong solvent and lose most of the crystal, not using the optimum temperature cycle (hottest point to lowest point), too little of the compound desired to separate effectively.
