I have spent a lot of time researching and I can't find this. I wrote a paper about the mona lisa and the last supper. I need a sentence from each that tells how they reflect or define the dadaism period. Can someone please help with one or point me in the right direction. thanks.

Read through some of the links in here and see what you find. Let us know if you still need help. These articles seem to be quite complete.

thank you for replying with the links. i already read through most of them before posting the question. i actually think i misread something. we had to pick a time period such as neoclassism or dadaism and write a paper on it and some examples. when i researched dadaism there was a pic of the monalisa but after further research i don't think it was leonardo's. i think both of these pieces were from the renaissance and i need to write how they reflected that period. is this correct? thanks again for your help

To find a sentence that reflects or defines the Dadaism period in relation to the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, you need to consider the context and characteristics of Dadaism as an art movement. Dadaism emerged in the early 20th century as a reaction to the social and political upheaval caused by World War I. It rejected traditional art conventions and sought to challenge societal norms.

For identification within these two specific artworks, you can look for elements or interpretations that align with Dadaist principles such as irrationality, absurdity, and a rejection of logic. Here are two potential sentences that could help you:

1. "The enigmatic smile of Mona Lisa reflects the Dadaist spirit through its nonsensical playfulness, as it subverts traditional notions of facial expressions and invites irrational interpretations."

2. "In The Last Supper, Leonardo da Vinci's intentional distortions and fragmented composition mirror the Dadaist inclination towards visual absurdity, challenging the logical expectations associated with religious art."

Remember to analyze the artworks and support your claims with evidence from the artworks themselves or from Dadaist theories and manifestos.
