how do you solve 3x-y=5 and =6x+2y=1 by substitution

I would solve the first for y

-y = -3x + 5
y = 3x - 5

now plug that into the second
6x + 2y = 1
6x + 2(3x-5) = 1

solve for x, once you have x plug its value back into
y = 3x-5

( I got x = 11/12, y = -9/4)
