Adam has built a garden shed in the shape described.
a square based pyramid with the height of 3.5m on top of a cube with base 4m by 4m and height 2m.
calculate the volume of the shed, to the nearest cubic metre.

  1. volume of cube base = 4x4x2 = ..
    volume of pyramid = (4/3)(4x4)(3.5) = ...

    total = .....

  2. thanks, but i don't think that is the answer because in the options ,the answer to that calculation is not there.

  3. So sorry, that was a typo, the volume of pyramid
    = (1/3)base area x height

    so volume of pyramid = (1/3)(4x4)(3.5)
