To circle the indirect object pronouns and draw an arrow to the indirect objects they stand for.

Es muy divertido comprar regalos para mi familia y mis amigos.

I circled regalos and drew the arrow to mi familia y mis amigos

QUESTION: is regalos circled or just the los( in regalos) In regarle - I think you do circle not the word but only the le ( because it is a verb ) and I am not confused about regalos.

Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum. When it says to circle the indirect object pronouns that means (me, te, le, nos, os, les). However, there are nouns in that sentence and NOT pronouns. The word "regalos" is the direct object or WHAT is being bought. Is something missing here? When you sa "regarle" the "le" IS an indirect object pronoun. Just be sure you have typed everything here?

Perhaps the sentence is to read: Es muy divertido comprarLES (circled) regalos, etc.

P.S. Sorry, I'm on late this evening.

To properly identify and circle the indirect object pronouns and draw arrows to the indirect objects they stand for, follow these steps:

1. Identify the verb in the sentence that requires an indirect object pronoun. In this case, the verb is "comprar."
2. Determine the indirect object pronoun that corresponds to the indirect object. In this sentence, the indirect object pronoun is "le" (representing "a mi familia y mis amigos").
3. Circle the indirect object pronoun "le" in the sentence "Es muy divertido comprar regalos para mi familia y mis amigos."
4. Draw an arrow from the circled "le" to the indirect objects it represents, namely "mi familia y mis amigos."
5. It is not necessary to circle or draw arrows to any other words in the sentence unless they are also functioning as indirect objects.

In this specific case, since "regalos" is not the indirect object but rather the direct object of the verb "comprar," you do not need to circle "regalos" or draw any arrows to it. Focus solely on identifying and circling the indirect object pronoun "le" and drawing an arrow to "mi familia y mis amigos."
