explain why and how a canadian goose migrates?

Why: When it gets cold and snow starts to fall the waters(lakes, rivers, ponds) in the north start to freeze and the geese don't have any way of finding food to eat. The geese migrate south where it's warmer and they can find food.

How: The families of geese gather into flocks and there's a leader who is at the head of the V-formation. When the leader gets tired another goose takes his place so he can rest. The travel by a flyway path.
