Hopefully, the accreditation process ensures that day to day record activities reflect what the hospital is doing accurately, timely, meeting all legal and regulatory requirements. Records during accreditation should be pulled and examined randomly, and audited, to ensure that this is happening. The bulk of the records will be patient records, but many others will be examined: equipment calibration and maintenance records, program compliance records (such as infectious disease program records, training records, staff certification records, and on and on.)
