Write the numbers in order of increasing size. 0.81, 0.811, 0.888, 8/10, 0.8181

I think it may be 0.888, 8/10, 0.81, 0.8181, 0.81

If you look at these decimals as money (coins) it will probably be easier - you will have to change the 8/10 into 0.80 first

I would put that first & the 0.888 last
also, you have 0.81 2x in your answer

8/10, 0.81, 0.8181, 0.888

To write the numbers in order of increasing size, we need to compare each number to the others and arrange them from smallest to largest. To do this:

1. Compare 0.81 and 0.811: Both numbers have two decimal places, so we look at the digit in the hundredth place. 0.811 has a larger digit (1) compared to 0.81 (0). Hence, 0.81 is smaller than 0.811.

2. Compare 0.81 and 0.888: Both numbers have two decimal places, so again we look at the digit in the hundredth place. 0.888 has a larger digit (8) compared to 0.81 (0). Therefore, 0.81 is smaller than 0.888.

3. Compare 0.81 and 8/10: It's easier to compare these if they are both expressed as decimals. 8/10 is equal to 0.8. Comparing the two, 0.81 is larger than 0.8.

4. Compare 0.81 and 0.8181: Both numbers have two decimal places, so we again look at the digit in the hundredth place. 0.8181 has a larger digit (8) compared to 0.81 (0). Therefore, 0.81 is smaller than 0.8181.

5. Compare 0.81 and 0.888: We already compared these numbers, and we found that 0.81 is smaller than 0.888.

Now, based on these comparisons, we can arrange the numbers from smallest to largest:

0.81, 8/10, 0.811, 0.8181, 0.888
