I know this isnt a school question but I want to know. My friend did this card trick. She shuffled the cards, showed me the bottom one and told me that was my card. Then she showed me a card from the bottom and said is this your card it wasn't then she did that 3 times so there were 4 cards face down. Then she said pick a card and it was my card!

That's an interesting card trick! Let's break it down step by step to understand how your friend performed it.

1. The trick starts with your friend shuffling the deck of cards. This is done to ensure that the cards are thoroughly mixed and that there is no prearranged order.

2. Next, your friend reveals the bottom card to you. This could be any card in the deck, and let's say it's a 7 of Hearts, for example.

3. Then, your friend proceeds to show you cards from the bottom of the deck, asking if each one is your card. Since the 7 of Hearts was already shown to you, none of these cards are your card.

4. After doing this three times, there are now four cards face down in front of you, none of which have been confirmed as your card.

5. At this point, your friend asks you to pick a card. Here's where the trick happens: all four of the face-down cards are actually duplicates of the 7 of Hearts.

6. Since you were only shown one instance of the 7 of Hearts at the beginning and none of the subsequent cards matched, you may assume that your card is not among the options presented.

7. However, regardless of which card you choose, it will always be the 7 of Hearts because that's the only card your friend initially revealed.

In summary, the trick works by creating the illusion of choice, making it seem like your card could not possibly be among the options given, when in reality, all the options are duplicates of the original card shown to you.
