5x^3

Is the 3 postive or negitive?

It is positive. A number that is positive doesn't necessarily have to have a positive sign infront of it. For ex. if you check the weather it won't say +3, it will just say 3. You know if a number is negative; it always has the negative sign infront of it.

I understand that, But all there was, was a ^ that means to the power of three, So you cant just have 5 times a exponet of a 3 unless the number is 0.

The expression 5x^3 represents a mathematical expression with two parts: 5 and x^3.

To evaluate this expression, you would need to substitute a specific value for x. Let's say x = 2.
So, we replace x with 2 and calculate: 5(2)^3.

First, we evaluate the exponent. 2^3 means 2 raised to the power of 3, which is 2 * 2 * 2 = 8.

Now, we substitute this value back into the equation: 5 * 8.
Multiplying 5 by 8 gives us the final result: 40.

Therefore, if x = 2, then 5x^3 = 40.
