state the range of each relation:
A. y=absolute value of 2x-3
B. y=the square root of x+1
y = |2x-3|
by definition, y ≥ 0 , so there is your range
y = √(x+1)
again, y ≥ 0 for the range
In both cases, look at the graphs, both graphs never go below the x-axis, but do touch it
The first one touches the x-axis at (3/2, 0)
the second at (-1,0)
