The alchemists were lookin 4 control over their world. what would the philosophers stone enable them to do? how would this give them control?

I wrote: The philospher's stone would enable them to gain fortunes, such as, if they found metal, they could change it to gold by the philosopher's stone, It could also cure diseases and prolong life.

I got the first part, but I am unable to explain on how this would give them control.

The philosopher's stone was believed to hold immense power and was considered the ultimate goal of alchemy. It was thought to possess the ability to transmute base metals into valuable ones like gold or silver. This power to create wealth would have given the alchemists tremendous control over their economic circumstances.

Furthermore, the philosophers believed that the philosopher's stone had the ability to produce an elixir or a panacea, a substance with miraculous healing properties. This elixir was thought to cure diseases and grant eternal youth or immortality. The possession of such a powerful tool for healing and rejuvenation would have given the alchemists a significant amount of control over life and death, and therefore, control over the lives and well-being of others.

In addition to the physical control over wealth and health, the pursuit and possession of the philosopher's stone were often associated with spiritual and mystical powers. It was believed that the stone could reveal secret knowledge, grant clairvoyance, and unlock hidden wisdom. These mystical abilities would have given the alchemists a form of control over knowledge and the unknown, allowing them to manipulate and influence others through their supposed supernatural insights.

Therefore, the philosopher's stone was seen as a means of acquiring not only material riches but also power over life, death, and hidden knowledge. This combination of economic, physical, and spiritual control would have given the alchemists a position of great authority and influence over their world.
