urgent, please help me...this is about the separation and purification scheme...

there is 4 group of mixture:
a)benzoic acid, benzoin and 1,4-dibromobenzene
b)fluorene, o-toluic acid and 1,4-dibromobenzene
c)phenanthrene, methyl 4-aminobenzoate and 1,4-dibromobenzene
d)4-aminoacetophenone, 1,2,4,5-tetrachlorobenzene and 1,4-dibromobenzene

how should I isolate the mixture? I need to isolate 2 out of 3 compound from the mixture...
can somebody help me please?

I can help you with the first one only

To develop a separation and purification scheme for each mixture, we need to consider the physical and chemical properties of the compounds involved. Here's a suggested approach for each group:

a) Benzoic acid, benzoin, and 1,4-dibromobenzene:
- Benzoic acid can be separated using acid-base extraction: Dissolve the mixture in an organic solvent, add a strong base to react with benzoic acid, and separate the organic layer containing the desired compound.
- Benzoin can be separated by recrystallization: Dissolve the remaining mixture in a suitable solvent, then cool the solution to allow benzoin to crystallize while other compounds remain in solution.
- 1,4-dibromobenzene can be separated by distillation: The compound has a boiling point of around 218-220°C, allowing it to be collected as a fraction during distillation.

b) Fluorene, o-toluic acid, and 1,4-dibromobenzene:
- Fluorene can be separated by vacuum filtration: As it is a solid, it can be filtered out from the mixture.
- o-Toluic acid can be separated using acid-base extraction, similar to benzoic acid in group a.
- 1,4-dibromobenzene can be separated by distillation, as mentioned previously.

c) Phenanthrene, methyl 4-aminobenzoate, and 1,4-dibromobenzene:
- Phenanthrene can be separated by vacuum filtration, similar to fluorene in group b.
- Methyl 4-aminobenzoate can be separated using acid-base extraction, similar to benzoic acid in group a.
- 1,4-dibromobenzene can be separated by distillation.

d) 4-aminoacetophenone, 1,2,4,5-tetrachlorobenzene, and 1,4-dibromobenzene:
- 4-aminoacetophenone can be separated by recrystallization, similar to benzoin in group a.
- 1,2,4,5-tetrachlorobenzene can be separated by distillation or chromatography, depending on the overall purity required.
- 1,4-dibromobenzene can be separated by distillation.

Note: The exact separation techniques may vary depending on the specific conditions and properties of the compounds involved. It is important to consult relevant references and perform preliminary tests to confirm the most suitable method for each mixture.
