(8.3*10^2)*(9.1*10^-7)

Please help me solve this result in scientific notation.

(8.3*9.1) 10^(2-7)

i got 75.53 for the first half, but for the second half i got -50, and that doesn't seem right.

Huh?

10^(2-7) = 10^-5
Try
75.53 * 10^-5

However you started with only 2 significant figures in each number so
76 * 10^-5

Ok Thank You!

You are welcome :)

To solve the multiplication problem (8.3 * 10^2) * (9.1 * 10^-7) and express the result in scientific notation, you need to multiply the numerical values and add the exponents.

Step 1: Multiply the numerical values:
8.3 * 9.1 = 75.53

Step 2: Add the exponents:
10^2 * 10^-7 = 10^(2-7) = 10^-5

Step 3: Combine the numerical value and the exponent:
The result is 75.53 * 10^-5

Therefore, the answer to the multiplication problem (8.3 * 10^2) * (9.1 * 10^-7) expressed in scientific notation is 7.553 × 10^-4.
