    Either fuel or oxidizer or both can be liquid. A rocket needs both. A jet engine only has to carry fuel.

    In a solid fuel rocket, the fuel and oxizer are premixed.

    There ars such things as hybrid rockets, with both solid and liquid propellants, but they are seldom used.
