I can't figure out how to get the x alone with out getting (3x)/(b-a).

Can anyone help explain?

  1. (b-a)x = 3x - (5/a)
    (5/a) = 3x - (b-a)x

    Now factor out x.

    (5/a) = x(3 - (b-a))
