Explain five factors that have lead to changing tourist patterns (i.e. growth in this industry)

1) There is only a minor population of MEDC’s which are not employed and a minor population in LEDC’s which are employed and so people tend to work for a less amount of hours and earn a great deal amount of money.
2) Transportation has rapidly improved over time and so it is easier for people to go from one place to another in a less period of time.
3) More tourism attractions and destinations are being built and enhanced and so people are attracted towards them and the government earns money to improve them.
4) The medical industry has expanded overtime and people live longer so retired people mainly aim to go on a peaceful holiday.
5) Over the years globalization has improved fairly quickly and so influences more people to go to a certain place.

I agree with your answers.

Your answer includes some valid points, but there are a few areas that could be expanded upon or clarified. Here is a revised explanation:

1) Economic factors: The employment situation in both more economically developed countries (MEDCs) and less economically developed countries (LEDCs) can influence tourist patterns. In MEDCs, where there is generally low unemployment, people often have more disposable income and leisure time to travel. In LEDCs, where unemployment may be higher, individuals may seek employment in the tourism industry, leading to the growth of this sector.

2) Improved transportation: Advances in transportation, such as the development of air travel and more efficient modes of transportation, have made it easier and faster for people to travel to different destinations. This accessibility has opened up new opportunities for tourism and contributed to the growth of the industry.

3) Destination development: The creation and enhancement of tourism attractions and destinations have played a significant role in changing tourist patterns. Governments and private investors have invested in developing new tourist sites, improving infrastructure, and promoting local culture and heritage, which can attract visitors and contribute to the overall growth of the industry.

4) Changing demographics and lifestyle: Societal changes including an aging population and longer life expectancy have led to a rise in retirees seeking leisure travel experiences. This growing demographic has influenced the development of niche products and services tailored to older travelers, such as cruise ships, senior-friendly accommodations, and retirement communities with amenities designed to attract tourists.

5) Globalization and exposure to diverse cultures: With the increasing interconnectedness of the world through globalization, people have greater exposure to different cultures, customs, and destinations. This exposure and awareness can spark curiosity and interest in visiting new places, leading to changing tourist patterns as people seek out unique and authentic experiences.

Remember, it is important to support your answer with relevant evidence and examples to make it more comprehensive and persuasive.
