    Each degree is made up of 60 minutes.
    Each minute is made up of 60 seconds.

    To convert degree-minutes-seconds to degrees decimal, divide the number of seconds by 60 to get the fractional part of minutes, add to the number of minutes. Divide the result by 60 to get decimal degrees, add to the whole number of degrees.

    Example:
    36°52'12"
    =36°(52+12/60)'
    =36°52.2'
    =(36+(52.2)/60)°
    =36.87°
