On Open office the word program how do you do headers. Every time i go to insert header it says default and puts the header on every page. The teacher says it has to be .5 on the right hand corner from our second page to the end. Any Suggestions.

Go to Format>page

then on the page format popup, click on Header.

Open office has a good help file that answers questions like this.

To create headers with specific formatting in OpenOffice Writer, follow these steps:

1. Open your document in OpenOffice Writer.
2. Go to the second page of your document where you want to start your headers.
3. Click on the "View" menu at the top and select "Headers and Footers" (or alternatively, you can double-click within the top margin area of the page).
4. A Header & Footer toolbar will appear on the screen.
5. In the Header & Footer toolbar, click on the "Insert On" drop-down menu and select "First" to create a different header for the first page, and then click "Insert".
6. Type your desired header text in the header area.
7. Click on the "Format" menu and select "Page" to open the Page Style dialog box.
8. In the Page Style dialog box, go to the "Header" tab.
9. In the "Header" tab, check the "Header on" option and set the "Spacing" to 0.5 inches for the right margin. You can also adjust other formatting options as per your teacher's requirements.
10. Click "OK" to apply the changes to the header.
11. Now, scroll down your document to the next page where you want the header to start repeating.
12. Repeat steps 3 to 6 to insert a header on the second page.
13. Go back to the Page Style dialog box by following step 7.
14. In the "Header" tab, check the "Header on" option, set the "Spacing" to 0.5 inches for the right margin, and click "OK" to apply the changes.
15. You can now close the Header & Footer toolbar by clicking on the "Close" icon.

By following these steps, you will have created headers with a 0.5-inch right margin spacing starting from the second page to the end of your document.
