I want to do an experiment fro my statistics class but I'm not sure if this will work:

The effect of color on memory
I want to give students a list of words in black and white and give them thirty seconds to try and remember the words. Then, thirty seconds to write as many as they can remember down. Then do the same with a list of colored words (different words, same difficulty). For half, they will do that first but the other half will do color first.

How do I create a control group out of that? And a treatment group? Is the black and white the control group? And how would I find the correlation? Would I do the black and white vs. color on a graph?

Please help! Thank you

you could randomly divide people into two groups, one gets BW and the other gets Color. The BW group is the control group.

Or, as I gather, you want to give each student two list. Then, the control group would get BW and BW, while the test group gets BW then Color.
