'Imagine that you are an extremely intelligent alien from outer space, but you have never seen a human before. For the very first time, you watch a human get out of bed, brush their teeth, sing in a chorus, or play softball. Choose a few of these activities or some others that you think of and jot down how the alien might describe what is going on.'

(Brushing teeth) The human took out a long stick with some needle-like things pointing out and put some blue paste on. Then he started rubbing this against the inside of what looked like his mouth! This activity confused me.

(Singing in chorus) The human, with a bunch of other aquantances, opened his mouth and started taking a sound out, and this apparently entertained other humans.

'Using these notes, write a paragraph that describes some everyday human activites from your alien's point of view. Open with the line "I came in from _________, parked in the air, and saw _____________." Try not to give away what the speaker is looking at.'

..Need help. Are my notes above alright for this activity? Thanks

Re: brushing teeth. "paste" would not be a word aliens would know...ooze, glob, squirt.... might work better. Also why would an alien assume that the hole would be a mouth... what would he think the shiny white things were? What about the wiggly thing in the middle.

Re: singing... what was the sound like to the alien...

You need more descriptive comparisons... what might things be like?
