On a multiple choice test with 10 questions and 5 choices, A,B,C,D,E, for each questions, what are the odds of guessing on all 10 questions and getting 100%. State your answer as a common fraction.

Thanks
-Zach

the prob of getting all 5 correct is

(1/10)*(1/10)*(1/10)*(1/10)*(1/10)
= (1/10)^5 or
= 1/100,000
so the prob of NOT getting all 5 correct
= 1 - 1/100,000 = 99999/100,000

so the odds in favour of getting all 5 correct is
1 : 99,999

Thanks

And I think you answered my question last time i posted, so thanks for keep on rollin'
:)

welcome!

To find the odds of guessing all 10 questions correctly on a multiple-choice test with 5 choices for each question, we need to determine the probability of guessing each question correctly and then calculate the overall probability of guessing all 10 questions correctly.

The probability of guessing a single question correctly is 1 out of 5 (since there are 5 choices). Therefore, the probability of guessing all 10 questions correctly is (1/5) * (1/5) * (1/5) * (1/5) * (1/5) * (1/5) * (1/5) * (1/5) * (1/5) * (1/5) = (1/5)^10.

Simplifying this fraction, we get 1/9765625 as the probability of guessing all 10 questions correctly.

Therefore, the odds of guessing all 10 questions correctly on this multiple-choice test is 1 in 9,765,625.
