Can you please explain this? It's kind of hard to understand...

Activity Theory - This theory proposes the continuation of a moderately active lifestyle and will maintain a sense of well-being. Lost roles - worker, mother, spouse, must be replaced by other roles

The activity theory states that older people should keep moderately active and busy to stay mentally healthy.

The things they did when they were younger -- working, mothering, being a husband or wife -- must be replaced by other activities.

In other words, an older person who sits around and does nothing or watches TV all day will lose some of their mental and physical abilities.

Use it or lose it!
