what types of reform effort is being implented to improve caregivers socialization skills

In the Medical Schools for physicians, a few years ago there was a last year course added to help young physicians communicate better with patients, of varying ages. Many students called it "Bedside manners", but it was more than that. I am not certain I would call it a reform movement, but it got a lot of attention in the press.
