Help with my course work

3 strips of potatoes of equal sizes are put into water, weak sucrose and strong sucrose solution.
As far as prediction goes I know happens. But what is the aim of this experiment?
I came up with this aim- To illustrate movement of water molecules in and out of plant cell through selectively permeable membrane.
Am I correct?

Yes, you are correct! The aim of the experiment is indeed to illustrate the movement of water molecules in and out of plant cells through a selectively permeable membrane. By using three strips of potatoes of equal sizes and placing them in water, weak sucrose solution, and strong sucrose solution, you can observe the effect of different concentration solutions on the movement of water molecules across the potato cells. This helps to understand the concept of osmosis, which is the movement of water molecules from an area of lower solute concentration to an area of higher solute concentration through a selectively permeable membrane.
