Solve each of the following system by addition. If a unique solution does not exist,state whether the system is inconsistent or dependent. equation is like this x+5y=10

-2x-10y=-20

2y+7y=36

The first one is x=5 & y = 1 ..g ah maybe i have no clue but there cud be tons of answeres for it! but im stuck on the problem i put above.. haha i hate math!! :(

yeah all you have to do is add 7+2 that gives you 9y=36 divide 36 by 9 and that give you 4 so y=4

To solve the given system of equations by addition, we need to eliminate one variable by adding the equations together. Let's go step by step:

1. Multiply the first equation by 2:
2(x + 5y) = 2(10)
2x + 10y = 20

2. Now, write down both equations together:
2x + 10y = 20 (Equation 1)
-2x - 10y = -20 (Equation 2)

3. Add the two equations:
(2x + 10y) + (-2x - 10y) = 20 + (-20)
2x + 10y - 2x - 10y = 20 - 20
0 = 0

4. Since we obtained 0 = 0, this means the two equations are the same line, and there are infinitely many solutions. Therefore, the system is dependent.

In summary, the given system of equations is dependent, meaning it has infinitely many solutions.
