1.Why does the Ankh stand out? 2.On the internet, where can I find anything about life and food of the pharaohs?

It looks as if what you need to do is learn how to conduct thorough and effective searches for yourself. That's what research is, and I'm sure that's what your teacher expects you to do – conduct research. You are searching for information that is so specific that you have to be prepared for the possibility that none of it may be online. Or some may be, and some may not. In addition to searching on the Internet, you also need to make best friends with the reference librarian(s) in your local or college library.

At this webpage, you can go immediately to the search sites (first three columns across the top) -- or even better you can scroll down until you see the section called HOW TO SEARCH THE INTERNET. Those are the links to start with. You'll not only learn how to come up with good search terms, but also how to evaluate the webpages you get as results. Some will be good and others will be garbage. You need to know how to tell the difference.

My favorite way to search is to go to Google's advanced search page http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en and put my search words or phrases into the first or second search box (either "all the words" or "exact phrase"). However, there many other strategies for searching you can use, and the HOW TO SEARCH THE INTERNET section will help you best.

Learning to use Google or other search engines can save you time and help you learn to find information efficiently. Here are some websites that can teach you how:

... and one to help you judge whether a particular website's information is worth your time:

I found lots of stuff on Ankh immediately by putting that one word into www.google.com:
http://www.google.com/search?q=ankh&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7SUNA

Happy searching.

These sites have some information about daily life. The pharaohs ate and lived pretty much like other rich Egyptians.

1. The Ankh stands out primarily because it is an ancient Egyptian symbol that carries deep cultural and religious significance. The Ankh resembles a cross with a loop at the top instead of a horizontal bar. It is often referred to as the "key of life" or the "key of the Nile." The Ankh was believed to represent the concept of eternal life and immortality in ancient Egyptian culture, making it a powerful and recognizable symbol.

2. If you want to find information about the life and food of the pharaohs on the internet, there are several reliable sources you can explore:

a) Academic websites: Websites of reputable universities or scholarly institutions often have resources or articles relating to ancient Egyptian civilization and history. You can search for specific keywords like "ancient Egypt pharaohs life and food" on search engines, and look for results from institutes such as universities or professional organizations.

b) Museums and cultural centers: Many museums and cultural centers have online platforms where they provide information about their collections and exhibitions. You can search for well-known museums with collections of Egyptian artifacts, such as the Egyptian Museum in Cairo or the British Museum, and navigate through their websites to find information about the life and food of the pharaohs.

c) Online libraries and archives: Websites like JSTOR, Google Scholar, or Project Gutenberg contain a vast array of academic papers, books, and articles. By searching for relevant keywords, you may find scholarly publications that delve into the topic of pharaohs' lives and food.

d) Online forums and communities: There are online forums and communities focused on ancient history and Egyptology where enthusiasts and experts discuss various aspects of ancient Egypt. Participating in these platforms can help you gain insights from people knowledgeable about the subject and may provide recommendations for further reading or sources.

Remember to critically evaluate the information you find, ensuring it comes from reliable sources and is supported by scholarly research or reputable cultural institutions.
