Solve the equation. Round to the nearest hundredth:

1. 1.59x+4.23=3.56x+2.12
2. -3(1.25-2.48x)=8.15+5.86

Could you give it a try and tell us where you get stuck?

Basically, you would need to collect terms in x on the left side of the equal sign, and constant terms on the right. Add up the coefficients to end up with one term on each side. Finally divide the constant term on the right hand side by the coefficient on the left to get the answer.

If you are not familiar with the terms like: coefficient, constant term, ...post again.

Here's an example:
3x+4 = 5x+2
transpose terms in x to the left and constant terms to the right.
3x-5x = 2 - 4
Sum the coefficients
-2x = -2
Divide to get the value of x:
x=-2/(-2)
=1
