would the 1/2 be distributed to the 9 and the x or is 9x one term and the 1/2 is given to the whole term? thanks :)
It will be clearer if you familiarize yourself with the following rule of exponents:
(ab)x=axbx
So
(9x)1/2 = 91/2x1/2
The same rule applies to the exponent (1/3).
