The sides of a square each measures 4 ¾ inches. Find the area of the square as a fraction or mix number. (Do not use decimals)
22 9/16 ?
what is the formula or how did you get that answer?
area is (side)^2
= (4 ¾)^2
= (19/4)^2
= 361/16
= 22 9/16
that explains it better thanks Reiny
i used a Ti-30xA calculator
using the fraction button : a b/c
area=length times width
so 4 ¾ times 4 ¾ equals
22 9/16 (mixed) or 361/16 (fraction)
