A work crew of 3 people requires 3 weeks and 2 days to do a certain job. How long would it take a work crew of 4 people to do the same job if each person of both crews works at the same rate as each of the others? Note: each week contains six work days.
Please help!! Thanks
I know I'm late but if someone else wants to use my response as a solution to this question, they can look at mine.
step 1 write stuff down
let x=number of workers
let y=time: days
1 week=6 work days
3 weeks +2 days= 18 +2 days=20 days
Do the inverse variation thing. y=k(1/x)
y=20 x=3
20=k(1/3)
k=20/(1/3)
k=60
Step 3 substitution
So u git n equation laik this. y=60(1/x)
Now, ur trying to find how much time it wil take with 4 workers, so substitute 4 in the place of x.
y=60(1/4)
y=15
step 4 you are done :D
It will take 15 days for a 4-worker team to complete the task. Only one more thing left to do. SUBSCRAIB TO PEIWDEHPEI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3 people take 3 weeks and 2 says, or 20 days, to do the job
so that is 60 workdays.
then 4 people can do the same job in 60/4 or 15 days, which would be 2 weeks and 3 days.
