What is an Adverb? and How is it used in a sentance?

Adverbs describe or modify verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs. Adverbs tell when, where, why, to what extent, and how.

Although adverbs often end in -ly, many adverbs do not end with this suffix.

In the following sentences, I've capitalized the adverbs.

She swam QUICKLY to save the man who ALMOST drowned.

LATELY I've been wondering about the health-care dilemma.

I have NEVER seen a purple cow, nor do I EVER want to see one.

She TRULY believes that the VERY handsome player REALLY likes her.
