For an assignment in my class, we must chose from the three regions of colonies and write a "colonial stock pamphlet" about our chosen region.

I have picked the New England Colonies and am unsure of what my three major arguments that would draw potential buyers in should be. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

My options are:
Founding, founders, and purposes for settlement
Geography
Government
Economics
Ethnic, relgious, and education
Family, leisure and food
Events and people
Cultural arts

Certainly the Puritan religion would be one argument you could feature. That could cover two of your points.

To choose your three major arguments for your colonial stock pamphlet about the New England Colonies, it would be helpful to consider what aspects would attract potential buyers. Here are three suggestions based on the options you provided:

1. Purposes for Settlement:
The New England Colonies were founded with specific purposes in mind, which can appeal to potential investors. Emphasize how these colonies were established by religious dissenters seeking religious freedom and a fresh start. Highlight the Pilgrims and Puritans who settled in this region, and their commitment to establishing a society based on their religious beliefs. Emphasize that these colonies served as a haven for those seeking a close-knit community and a strong sense of purpose.

2. Economic Opportunities:
The New England Colonies offered various economic prospects, which can be appealing to potential buyers. Discuss how these colonies were known for their thriving trade and commerce. Explain the significance of their proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and their strong shipbuilding industry, which provided opportunities for trade and fishing. Highlight the growth of industries such as lumber, textiles, and manufacturing in this region. Emphasize the potential for financial success and economic stability in the New England Colonies.

3. Cultural and Educational Advancements:
The New England Colonies had a strong emphasis on education, culture, and intellectual pursuits. Showcase how education was highly valued in this region, with the establishment of Harvard College in 1636, the first institution of higher learning in the colonies. Point out that the New England Colonies had a high literacy rate compared to other regions, and explain how this emphasis on education contributed to a strong sense of intellectualism and growth. Highlight cultural advancements such as the establishment of printing presses and the publication of books, which helped foster a rich literary and artistic tradition in the New England Colonies.

By focusing on these three major arguments, you will provide potential buyers with a well-rounded understanding of the New England Colonies and what makes them an attractive investment opportunity. Remember to support your arguments with specific examples and evidence to make your pamphlet persuasive and informative.
