The place is a combination of human and physical characteristics that set a particular place apart from other places. Moscow is a huge city with a wonderful subway system. As I remember it from my visit there over 30 years ago, the subway stations had colorful mosaics. Also outstanding in Moscow is the Kremlin and St. Basil's Cathedral.
