An image illustrating the concept of speed and comparison between two different entities. On one side of the image, depict a sleek, modern car on a highway, with speed lines indicating rapid movement. The car is covering a vast, open plain, representing a large distance covered in a short period. On the other side, display a sprinter in motion on a track. He is in a dynamic pose, indicating swift movement. A digital timer is ticking above him as he runs to represent that he is being timed. The concept of measurement scale could be shown via a subtle symbol or icon but ensure the image contains no text.

A car travels 240km in 2hr. And the sprinter travels 100m in 9.5 seconds. which one is traveling faster and by how much ?

recall that speed is distance travelled over time. thus we calculate the speed of each. let's also make sure that the units of speed for both are the same.

Car: (convert first the units)
240 km * (1000 m /1 km) = 240000 m
2 hr * (3600 s / 1 hr) = 7200 s
v = d/t
v = 240000/7200
v = 33.33 m/s

Sprinter:
v = d/t
v = 100/9.5
v = 10.53 m/s

thus the car travels faster than sprinter by 33.33 - 10.53 = 22.8 m/s

hope this helps~ :)

I just googled this in 2021 who's with me? 😌💅
