Evaluate sec(cos^-1(3/5)

I'm pretty sure the answer is 5/3, but I'm a little thrown off by the cos^-1. What exactly does it mean?

Thanks!

cos^-1(3/5) means to take the inverse cosine, or arccosine, of 3/5. It is also written as arccos, or acos.

So if 3/5 = cos(x), then x = acos(3/5)

You are correct, the answer to the expression is 5/3.
