I do not know what subject to put this

uh ok
how do I put this into one cell into microsoft excell into one cell
- .49 m
when i put "-" it thinks I'm entering a formula which is not what I'm tyring to do

i want negetive .49 m
m being meters into one cell and do not know how to

It's the "m" that's giving you problems.

The column should have a heading for the type of measurement (put that heading in cell A1.

Then in A2 type in -0.49 -- it'll work.

Meters <~~in A1.

-0.49 <~~in A2.

To enter the value "- .49 m" into one cell in Microsoft Excel without it being treated as a formula, you can use an apostrophe before the value. Here are the steps to do this:

1. Open Microsoft Excel and open the worksheet where you want to enter the value.
2. Select the cell where you want to enter "- .49 m" (let's say it's cell A1).
3. In the formula bar at the top of the Excel window (just below the toolbar), type an apostrophe ('), followed by a space, and then the value "- .49 m". It should appear like this: `' - .49 m`.
4. Press Enter to confirm the entry.

By starting with an apostrophe, Excel will recognize the value as a text entry, and it will be displayed as "- .49 m" in the cell without treating it as a formula.
