Properties of solutions
A solution of salt in water conducts electricity, but a solution of sugar does not. Explain why?
1 answer
NaCl ionizes into Na^+ and Cl^- and these ions conduct the electricity from one electrode to the other. Sugar doesn't ionize; therefore, there is nothing to help the electrons from one electrode to the other.
