1give the diameter of the earth

2how far is the earth from the sun
3describe what causes night and day

The diameter of the earth is 7,926.41 miles (12,756.32 kilo). While the earth is rotating the sun it is 92,960,000 miles far from the sun or (149,600,000 kilo). What causes night and day is from how the earth rotates the sun. For certain lengths of time when one side of the earth is facing the sun the other side is't. For the side that is then it is day, for the side that isn't facing the sun it's night

My source was from notes in my class.

1. To find the diameter of the Earth, you can use scientific measurements. The most commonly accepted value for the Earth's diameter is approximately 12,742 kilometers (7,918 miles). This value represents the distance across the Earth from one side to the other, passing through its center.

2. The average distance between the Earth and the Sun is about 149.6 million kilometers (93 million miles). This value is known as an astronomical unit (AU) and is used as a standard measure when referring to distances within our solar system. The Earth's orbit around the Sun is not perfectly circular, so the distance varies slightly throughout the year.

3. Night and day are caused by the rotation of the Earth on its axis. The Earth rotates once every 24 hours, which creates the cycle of day and night. When a particular area of the Earth is facing towards the Sun, it experiences daylight, while the opposite side is in darkness, resulting in night. As the Earth continues to rotate, different parts of the planet experience alternating periods of day and night. This rotation is why we have the regular cycle of day and night that occurs around the globe.
