I know nothing about Photo Story 3 to be honest. But generally speaking, if you have a clear picture and put it into a program and it becomes blurry, there is a good chance the picture was just too big.

If you can, shrink the picture in a good program then put it into Photo Story and see if it solves the problem.

Can you shrink/edit pictures in Photo Story?

Unfortunately, Photo Story 3 does not have built-in image editing capabilities. It is primarily designed for creating slideshows with photos and adding effects, transitions, and music. To edit your pictures and resize them, you would need to use a separate image editing software.

However, there are many free online image editing tools that you can use to resize and edit your pictures before importing them into Photo Story 3. Some popular options include:

1. Pixlr - An online image editing tool with features similar to Photoshop.
2. Canva - A graphic design platform that allows you to resize and edit images.
3. GIMP - A free and open-source image editing software that provides advanced editing features.
4. Fotor - An online photo editing tool with resizing and basic editing options.
5. Paint.net - A free image and photo editing software that offers resizing and other editing tools.

Once you have resized and edited your pictures using one of these tools, you can import the smaller and clearer images into Photo Story 3 to create your slideshow.

Yes, you can edit and modify pictures within Photo Story 3, although it may not offer as many advanced editing features as dedicated image editing software. Here's how you can try to improve the clarity of your pictures in Photo Story 3:

1. Open Photo Story 3 on your computer.
2. Click on "Edit" in the top menu to access the editing tools.
3. Select the slide that contains the picture you want to modify.
4. Click on the picture to select it.
5. In the editing pane, you should see options to adjust various properties of the picture, such as saturation, brightness, contrast, and sharpness.
6. Look for a "sharpness" or "focus" slider and try increasing it to enhance the clarity of the image.
7. Make adjustments to the other properties as you see fit to further enhance the picture quality.
8. Preview the modified picture within Photo Story 3 to see if the changes have improved its clarity.

If the built-in editing tools in Photo Story 3 don't provide enough control or if you're unable to achieve the desired level of clarity, you may want to consider using external image editing software, such as Microsoft Paint, Adobe Photoshop, or GIMP, to modify the pictures before importing them into Photo Story 3.
