When soldiers are in battle they have to operate as a unit, not as individuals. How does that take away their freedom? I posted this question early but I still don't understand how this embarks on having no freedom. Thank You

An individual soldier might want to stop and rest or eat -- or simply walk away from the battle. However, soldiers must stay with their units and fight or march, regardless of what they really want. So -- military personnel have to give up their freedom to do what they personally want and do what their unit is ordered to do.
