i need to find out which of these is better value.

£3.90 -9 pack of toilet rolls
or £2.50 6pack of toilet rolls.
i think its th £3.50 but i am finding it hard to show the working out.

convert each to cost per unit

1. £3.90/9 = £0.43 per roll
2. £2.50/6 = £0.42 per roll

so the second is "slightly" cheaper.

To determine which option is the better value, you need to calculate the price per toilet roll for each pack.

For the £3.90 - 9 pack of toilet rolls, divide the total price (£3.90) by the number of toilet rolls (9):
Price per roll = £3.90 / 9 = £0.4333 per roll (rounded to four decimal places)

For the £2.50 - 6 pack of toilet rolls, divide the total price (£2.50) by the number of toilet rolls (6):
Price per roll = £2.50 / 6 = £0.4167 per roll (rounded to four decimal places)

Comparing the price per roll, the £2.50 6 pack of toilet rolls has a lower price per roll (£0.4167) compared to the £3.90 9 pack of toilet rolls (£0.4333). Therefore, the £2.50 6 pack of toilet rolls is the better value because it offers a lower price per toilet roll.
